As it is stated in TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard and relevant ILAC ve EA guidelines proficiency testing and interlaboratory comparisons are very important tools concerning the quality assurance of the testing results. Within this context participation in proficiency testing is treated as an important performance criteria regarding the evaluation of the technical competence of the laboratories.
Within this context laboratories applied for accreditation should participate in at least once to a Proficiency Testing programme or/and interlaboratory comparison for the main disciplines they demand for accreditation and should submit satisfactory results.
Accredited laboratories should participate in at least one proficiency testing or interlaboratory comparisons for each of the accredited sub-disciplines within one-cycle (4 year) of accreditation period. Accredited laboratories should participate in proficiency testig programs and interlaboratory comparisons, if available. Under these circumstances if the laboratory do not participate in proficiency testing programs even it is available, then the laboratory should present the objective evidences for not participating.
In the attachment you can find the procedure including TÜRKAK policy about proficiency testing. The laboratories should conduct their activities on proficiency testing programs by taking into account this procedure and should keep the relevant records. If the laboratories do not follow the requirements mentioned at this letter and at the attached procedure, this will be treated as a nonconformity by the assessment team and if the corrective action is not completed satisfactorily then this can lead to not granting or suspending the accreditation.
