Certification Accreditation Department conducts conformity assessment and accreditation activities of the personnel certification bodies, management system certification bodies and greenhouse gas emission verifiers in accordance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17021-1, TS EN ISO/IEC 17024, TS EN ISO/IEC 17065 and TS EN ISO 17029 in addition to the guidance documents of TURKAK, European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA), International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
The accreditation task of conformity assessment bodies has been given solely to TÜRKAK with the law numbered 4457 in our country.
TS EN ISO/IEC 17021-1, TS EN ISO/IEC 17024, TS EN ISO/IEC 17065 and TS EN ISO 17029 are the worldwide accepted standards. General Requirements for the technical competence and management system of the management system certification bodies, personnel certification bodies, product certification bodies and greenhouse gas validation or verification bodies are set out in TS EN ISO/IEC 17021-1, TS EN ISO/IEC 17024 and TS EN ISO 17029 respectively.
Certification Accreditation Department provides accreditation services in the field of Management System Certification within the scope of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification Scheme, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System, ISO 13485 Medical Devices Quality Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO/IEC 20000-1 Information Technology Service Management System, AS EN 9100 and ISO/IEC 27701 Extension to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002 for privacy information management.
In addition, our Department is actively working on issues regarding accreditation for notification purposes. Notified bodies provide conformity assessment services for CE marked products that require 3rd party independent conformity assessment service before they are put into the market. Within this framework, in accordance with the European Union Legislation 768/2008/EC, Accreditation Certificate is among the application documents to be submitted to the legal authority at the application phase by the CAB (conformity assessment body) as a candidate notified body. Accordingly, "accreditation", which is completely based on "voluntariness", has become a prerequisite and "must" in applications for notification purposes. Accreditation applications for notification purposes are handled by TÜRKAK according to the policies determined on the basis of “EA-2/17 Document on Accreditation for Notification Purposes" and the majority of them are evaluated within the framework of TS EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard.
Greenhouse gas emissions, which are shown as the biggest cause of global climate change, are increasing rapidly every year. For this reason, many activities have been initiated to monitor and reduce emissions. Within this manner, the organizations that verify greenhouse gas emissions receive services from TÜRKAK within the scope of TS EN ISO 17029 standard to prove that they are working in accordance with international rules and that they have certain qualification requirements.
On the other hand, our Department creates its system according to the TS EN ISO/IEC 17024 standard and accredits personnel certification bodies operating at home and abroad. Although personnel certification accreditation is generally voluntary, there are also areas where accreditation is required by regulatory bodies. Certification of persons is a means of providing assurance that certified persons meet the requirements of the certification scheme.
Within this context, our Department, which was restructured in 2022 in order to provide better service by creating a more efficient business model in the sectors including all areas of life, provides accreditation services to certification bodies with its competent and impartial teams.
