TÜRKAK’s Strong Contribution to Green Transformation: Accreditation Launched for Carbon and Water Footprint Verification

In support of monitoring and managing environmental impacts in the fight against climate change, TÜRKAK has launched a new accreditation service for verification bodies operating under the standards ISO 14067 (Product Carbon Footprint) and ISO 14046 (Water Footprint).

Recognizing that environmentally friendly production is no longer a choice but a global responsibility, TÜRKAK has taken a significant step forward by introducing accreditation services that enable the independent and internationally recognized verification of greenhouse gas emissions and water usage.

Carbon Footprint: The Key to a New Era in Export

The ISO 14067 standard defines the principles for calculating greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout a product’s entire life cycle—from raw material acquisition to disposal. With the introduction of the European Green Deal and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, this standard has gained even greater significance. TÜRKAK's initiative supports organizations in preparing for these critical regulatory developments.

Water Footprint: The Foundation of Sustainable Development

The ISO 14046 standard offers a scientific and traceable framework for assessing the environmental impacts of water use associated with a product, process, or organization. Given the urgent need to protect water resources, verification activities under this standard have now become possible through TÜRKAK accreditation.

Applications Now Open via ASİST Portal

Applications for these accreditation services are now being accepted through TÜRKAK’s digital application platform, ASİST.

With these new areas of service, TÜRKAK continues to support the expansion of environmentally responsible, sustainable, and globally compliant production processes.
